The 2018 Australian Alpaca Spectacular Product Competition & Showcase
There are so many creative and talented members of the Australian Alpaca Association that create exquisite product from our very own luxurious Australian Alpaca Fibre.
There are a number of different categories for you to enter to showcase your skills. Entries are open on the 22nd June and close on the 20th of July 2018 with all payments to be made through eAlpaca. Open to all AAA members (family members of AAA members are allowed to enter the competition). All exhibits will be judged on Saturday the 11th of August and displayed at the Australian Alpaca Spectacular from the 23rd - 26th August 2018.
The Judges for the Product Competition are Pam Jowett and Kathy Porta.
There will be a 1st, 2nd & 3rd placing for each class and an overall Champion & Reserve Champion awarded for all the classes combined. The public will be able to vote on their favourite Product Exhibit and the winner will be awarded the People's Choice Award. Along with the People's Choice Award there will be a People's Choice Runner's Up Prize as well as a fabulous Voter's Prize.
Meet our Product Judges Pam Jowett & Kathy Porta Pam Jowett - Pam lives in Albury and has been working with natural fibres for about 50 years. She has extensive experience in an array of crafts such as spinning, weaving, patchwork quilting, beading and macramé. Pam is a member of the Albury Wodonga Hand Weavers and Spinners Guild and has judged at many of the regional Ag Shows. Kathy Porta - Kathy lives at Yackandandah and has been knitting and crocheting for many years. She owns and breeds alpacas and uses the natural fibre to create her own beautiful product. Kathy is a member of the North East Alpaca Group and the Albury Wodonga Hand Weavers and Spinners Guild. Kathy is also a regular volunteer as an alpaca fleece steward at the Wodonga Show.

And the winner is...……... Champion, Reserve Champion and ribbon winners will be on display and announced at the Australian Alpaca Spectacular from the 23rd August! The public can also vote on their favourite exhibit at the event.
